Jan. 13, 2011 (China Knowledge) - Baidu Inc, the leading Chinese-language Internet search provider, has launched an English-language blog site, Baidu Beat, for overseas users with effort to expand in the global market, the Shanghai Daily reported. The Baidu Beat, which started on Monday and is expected to be a window on Chinese Internet culture, has postings derived from key words that are most searched on Baidu. Ordinary users can not directly post on the blog but send feedback through an e-mail address. Currently, the blog is updated by Baidu employees. The authors will select hot topics on Baidu Feng Yun Bang, a list updated almost in real time that shows the top searches on Baidu. Baidu has operated a Japanese search engine site for two years. The company has more than 70% market share in China's search market, followed by Google Inc with about 20%, according to Beijing-based research company iResearch Inc.
