QLD: Injured Whale unable to be saved

Efforts to rescue a seriously injured pilot whale .. which beached itself on Queensland's
central coast .. have failed.

COL LIMPUS from the Environmental Protection Agency says members of the public found
the four-metre adult pilot whale at Round Head .. near Agnes Water.

He says the whale had serious head injuries that may have been caused by sharks.

But .. although the rangers managed to refloat the whale .. the animal beached itself
again .. which Dr LIMPUS believes is an indication it didn't want to return home.
