NSW: Rock thrower accused pleads guilty to manslaughter

A 22-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a truck driver who was
killed when a rock thrown from a highway overpass crashed through his windscreen.

SEAN MCGOLDRICK is the last of four defendants, including two teenagers to plead guilty
to the charge following the death of driver MARK EVANS at Menangle in Sydney's west in
August 1998.

MR EVANS was killed almost instantly when the rock, weighing about 5kg, struck him
in the chest after being dropped from the overpass above the M5.

SEAN SUTCLIFFE, a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old boy have already pleaded guilty to
manslaughter.

Last year, the 17-year-old was sentenced to a three-year good behaviour bond.

MCGOLDRICK, SUTCLIFFE and the 19-year-old will be sentenced later this month.
